A classic example of Jansons site assembly. The India Buildings comprised a receivership sale of a prominent rare building in Edinburgh’s old town.
It unlocked the development of a gap site to the rear backing on to Cowgate. The amalgamation of both resulted in a major five-start hotel consent. I
Project Outcome
Jansons secured planning consent for the development of a new luxury hotel on the site of the former India Buildings in the old town of Edinburgh, part of the UNESCO World Heritage site.
When complete, the development will provide 222 guest rooms. bars, restaurants and function space.
The hotel is now open to the public and is Virgin’s first hotel outside the US.
