Following in the wake of our hugely enjoyable rowing event (see what I did there?) at Dorney in July 2013, Jansons have decided to do it again, bigger, better and (hopefully not) wetter. Save Wednesday, 24th June in your diary.

Invitations will soon be making their way to various colleagues and friends. Though entry is open to any company, it’ll be first come, first served. This year, entry is restricted to a maximum of 15 teams, with six people (men, ladies or mixed) rowing in each team. Some basic coaching will be provided by Dorney (so total beginners can join in), as well as a cox for each boat, we want to keep crashes to a minimum. The boats are Cornish Gigs, almost impossible to capsize, though Michael had a good go last time. Hopefully, it’ll be a bit sunnier this year.

Boats will cost £560 with no VAT, as it’s being organised through The Alexander Jansons Foundation ( www.alexanderjansonsfoundation.org ). If anyone would like to get sponsorship and donate more, fantastic. There is also a JustGiving page for the Foundation.
Following the racing, which will take up most of the afternoon, there will be a BBQ for the teams (included in the boat price). If you would like to bring guests, they can join the BBQ (price to be determined – about £20 per person) but we would need to know numbers in advance. There will be a pay bar available.
We expect to start at about 1pm and conclude by 8pm. Teams will compete for The Jansons Cup and a wooden spoon prize will also be awarded. We intend for this to become an annual event, so everyone will be keen to be the first to get their company name on the The Jansons Cup.

If you haven’t received an invitation and would like to enter a team, please contact us, details are on the contacts page of this website.
