Jansons are extremely pleased to announce their purchase of a 1 acre site at the Edinburgh Business Park. They have already  agreed to build a 161 bed hotel, pre let to Accor as an Ibis Budget Hotel, on the site. Planning permission has already been granted.

Below are some before pictures and after CGIs, showing different aspects of the site and proposed hotel.

Work will begin in the Spring 2013 and completion is due by the end of 2013.

Having successfully built a Travelodge Hotel at London Heathrow with shipping containers some years ago, Jansons are considering using the same method again. For a look at that development, click here.

The development will create a public courtyard area for all workers at Edinburgh Business Park, thus improving the landscaping and amenities in the area.

The site is close to the airport and also next to the interchange for the new tramline, currently under construction, which will run between the airport and the city.

The tramline will also connect this hotel to our other Edinburgh Accor Ibis hotel at SoCo, currently under construction. Click here for a recent Scotsman article about the fire ten years ago, the difficulties the site has faced in the intervening years and the bright outlook now the area is being regenerated by Jansons.

There will be more posts charting the progress of this project, as well as other news and our monthly blogs from the Chambers brothers, so keep checking back.
